TeamProfile: The Charlotte Heat is a non-profit; youth track club that
strives to motivate youths ages 6-18 of Charlotte,NC and surrounding
areas, to achieve leadership, self-discipline, sportsmanship, integrity,
and a sense of community in a nonviolent, drug free atmosphere.
Our program offers athletes a dynamic balance through team/individual
elements of track and field as a medium to strengthen work ethics and
foster self-esteem. Charlotte Heat doesn't host tryouts to join. Track is
not about just running and athletic conditioning; moreover, it is a
training ground for our next generation of productive citizens.
Charlotte Heat allows children to grasp the importance of giving back
to the community. Through these community outreach projects, the
children learn how to be an asset to the community by giving back to the less
fortunate and are more appreciative to what they have received.
2005 was our club's first track season and it was very successful one.
Some of the highlights from the season are: 14 Academic All-Americans
with G.P.A.'s of 3.0 & above, Johnson Riley Invite Team Champions,
BAYTAF Classic Divison II Runner-Up Team, Broke 1 National Record, Broke 7
meet Records, 34 State Champions, 31 Regional Champions, 29 Junior
Olympic Qualifers, 2 National Champions, 2 National Runner-Ups, and 14
Indoor/Outdoor All-Americans.
