Cross Country
The Fair Haven Cross Country Team Participated in the New Jersey Grammar School Cross Country Championships at Allaire State Park on Sunday October 2nd. The girls 4th to 6th grade team place first in the club division. The team was led by Kendall Baldwin Gr. 6 who attends Raritan Valley. She ran the mile distance in 5:57. Her teammates were all from Knollwood and included Kate Hester Gr. 5 (8:08), Jackie Burpee Gr. 6 (8:14), Katie Burpee Gr. 4 (8:17), Amanda Anderson Gr. 5 (11:12), and Samantha Walrath Gr 6 (11:14).
The girls 3rd grade team ran 3/8 mile. The three Sickles athletes all had exceptional performances and were led by Hannah Anderson who finished 2nd overall with a time of 2:21. Fini Satzke finished 41st in 2:45, and Sonia de los Reyes finished 56th in 3:06.
All of the boys were Knollwood students. Sam Atkins Gr. 4 and Thurgood Kilper competed in the mile in the 4th to 6th grade division. Sam (7:27) and Thurgood both had outstanding performances. Two 7th graders competed in the 1.5 mile 7th & 8th grade division. Connor Simpson was 30th overall (9:31) and Robert DeBarba had a time of 11:30.
It is not too late to join the team. You can join at any practice on Monday’s or Wednesday’s from 5 to 6pm at Fair Haven Fields. Call coach Harris (732)747-1752 for additional information.
