This is Christine Ndrebe she is a 4 time Boston
Marathon winner. We talked as she was in our studio and I told her how
much you love track. When she is in America I am hoping you two can meet
as she is a Christian and loves helping children. Let me know if you get
this photo as I am trying to send more soon. God bless you and have a happy holiday. Maybe
you can put this on your website and once I get time I am going to some track
meets and I can send you more photos. They love track in Kenya. It
seems like they have big meets every week. Other than soccer it is the
biggest sport, it may even be bigger because the soccer team is not very good
and the track people are looked at as stars. Kenya is the safest place in
east Africa so all the Africans come to train here but they are nowhere near
the United States. When they have an open cross country meet or mini
marathon it is like everyone in Kenya comes. They love running so much it is
amazing. I hope in the future to start a youth track team but
right now my priority is making sure their basic needs are taken care of.
I will have no shortage of kids as they are always running all over the
place. Also I know why Kenyans are such good distance runners.
Kenya is highly elevated it is like being in Colorado and the further you
travel in the country the higher the elevation. I went jogging the other
day and I was so out of breath, but the air is clean and fresh. There are
many Kenyans looking for managers as there are many corrupt people in the
industry but when you look at them many have to leave the country because they
cannot make their own team, yet they will be the best in another country so
they are forced to leave, but they do not want to leave. Tell everyone I say Hi and I thank them for praying
for the children of Kenya. Tell them God has good things in store and I
am going to be sending an update this weekend with many photos.
Tell mom I love her and the kids always ask about my mother, I do not know why
but they just do. Thank you Stacy
