ATHLETE PROFILE - SAL ADAMO 
                  
                   
                  Sal Adamo, 13 years old, from Phillipsburg, has competed successfully in numerous track and field events.  Primarily a jumper/hurdler, Sal has demonstrated the ability to perform all of the
                  decathlon events successfully at an early stage in his training.  As a jumper,
                  Sal has long jumped 18'-1½", high jumped 5'-4" and pole vaulted 9 feet.  It is
                  anticipated that a 20-foot jump will occur during the summer, as well as a high jump in the 5'-8" to 5'-10" range.  
                  As a pole vaulter, he possesses his greatest talents.  Being coached
                  by Mike Lawryk, who previously coached Stacy Dragila, the indoor world record holder and Olympic gold medalist, a 10'-6" to
                  11-foot jump is anticipated this year.  
                  Last spring, Sal ran a 12.23 100 meter and will break the 12 second barrier numerous times this year.  His favorite sprinting event is the 100 meter hurdles where it is anticipated that he will run an F.A.T.
                  time of 14 seconds or faster.  
                  As a thrower, Sal threw the javelin 122'-3" last year and it is anticipated that he will throw in the neighborhood
                  of 145 to 165 feet this year.  During the indoor season, Sal threw the shot put
                  38 feet and on numerous occasions has thrown 40 feet in practice.  During the
                  2003 summer Junior Olympics, it is antipated that he will compete in the pentathlon and four individual events the long jump,
                  high jump, pole vault and javelin.
