Background
Information This event will be contested
with grade rather than age group divisions. This meet will give athletes an opportunity to qualify early for the First National
HS Decathlon/Heptathlon Championships to be held in Albuquerque NM June 28-29, 2003. Athletes must score (Male) 6000 points
in a decathlon or (Female) 4200 points in a Heptathlon. An alternative is for males to average 600 points in 5 decathlon events
and for females to average 600 points in 3 heptathlon events. We have requested
that athletes in this meet scoring 3000 points in this indoor pentathlon be accepted as qualifiers for National HS Decathlon/Heptathlon
Championships. Each athlete meeting these standards will receive a certificate.
The top male and the top female in each grade (9 thru 12) will be awarded plaques and finishers
2 thru 6 will be awarded medals. Scoring will be in accordance with USATF Youth Athletics scoring tables.
