A Tribute To The United Stars
Harris Reports would like to pay tribute to the United Stars Track Club for the outstanding
servce they provide to the entire track and field community. See www.unitedstarstrackclub.com/sites.htm . If you have never visited their site, you have missed the greatest collection of youth ranking lists in the world.
I know, because I search the internet regularly for information of interest to Harris Reports visitors. If an athlete competes
in an AAU or USATF association or higher competition as well as major invitational meets, he or she will most likely be listed
in the system.
Athletes, coaches , and parents alike are curious about how the athletes compare to their
peers and the United Stars can tell them. Rankings for HS, College, or even World Class Athletes have only two divisions
(male & female) whereas the United Stars rank male and female youth athletes in six separate age divisions. Most of the
other ranking systems do not go much beyond 100 deep, whereas the United Stars often go several thousand deep in the more
popular events.
I am sure that college coaches are using this system to keep an eye on performances of
outstanding athletes for recruitment purposes, and it certainly makes the athletes want to run faster, jump higher, or throw
farther to move up the list. I wouldn't be surprised if more HS athletes begin participating in the Junior Olympic event
to obtain the greater exposure that system can provide for them. We have been sending our visitors to the United Stars
site for ranking information for the past three years.
We appreciate the superb service The United Stars provide to the track and field community
and would like to say THANKS.
